Jenny's on the inside

On Saturday, I went to my first demonstrator get together here in PA. It was fun to meet some other demonstrators in my area. We swapped, shared some ideas stamped and munched. Next time I will come a little more prepared with something to work on.

MDS Tradition 39

Last year I made a birthday page with MDS so this year I thought I'd carry out the tradition and maybe someday I'll attempt to go backwards but I think I'm missing a few years of my life when it comes to photographs.

This took me a while but it was still fun. I always start with another page as my inspiration but end up moving things a little to make it all work.

For the words and numbers: I used the Schoolbook Serif Stamp. I adjusted the sizing and the spacing of every letter to get what I wanted. Yeah, I did that.

For the flowers: I used the Happy Bday Flowers but since the larger one is actually an outline, I filled in the spaces with the circle punch in white. The dots are from the Happy Bday Elements and I hid the extra dots by putting a square punch in Crumb Cake (Kraft on MDS) over the extra ones.

For the trim (in Real Red): I used the scallop trim punch. I flipped one and lined them up to create a rick-rack effect.

Now of course, I want more downloads!
*Picture not taken on my birthday but close enough, it was a few weeks earlier

Happy Valentine's Day!

This card features the Love You Much set (was that obvious?). I simply colored in the stamp with markers and then used the aquapainter to add some water to the "V" so that there was water in the vase.
The Real Red flower button has a knot of Daffodil Delight taffeta ribbon in it. I punched a hole behind the flower and pulled the ribbon through so that I could tape it down on the back. Yes, tape. I believe that good old tape is the best way to secure ribbon to a card. It prevents any problems in the future.
The stamped image is raised up on dimensionals. That's a good idea when you have anything that may create an uneven surface on a card.

Happy Bearthday to Me

I had a birthday this month so I decided to make this for myself. I actually started it several days ago but I was not satisfied with my poor coloring. Today I picked up the same badly colored bear and recolored it the same way. Yet another plug for my favorite watercoloring technique: Markers, Aquapainters and Watercolor Paper. I just love how you can come back to it and make it better. I used the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig to get everything in the right spot, even the Happy Bearthday which I stamped twice in the same spot to make sure it was nice and dark since I was stamping on colored cardstock.

February Colors: Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist,Crumb Cake
Other stuff: Staz On Black, Stamp-A-Ma-Jig, Big Shot and Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder, Crystal Effects (on red balloon).
